I took a different approach than most in terms of completing the sports photography assignment, which was to explore the art of Chinese yoyo. Most people probably wouldn't regard it as a sport, but I see it as both a sport and an art form. To be good, players must be creative, strategic, focused and most important of all, have great hand eye coordination. Chinese yoyo isn't simply just a game, it's a sport because it takes years and years of practice before one can truly call themselves good. Most players on the Portland Chinese School Team start playing/training when they are around the age of 6 and continue onward until they are good enough to create their own tricks and styles.
(majority of these pictures were taken with my phone; therefore, quality may not be as good as previous photos.)
